The reuse of wood to sustainable agriculture

The reuse of wood to sustainable agriculture

In the beginning of Ecohierbas Chile we compost pile and vermicomposteras made from reclaimed wood, to promote the reuse of materials and the circular economy. This experience allowed us to approach it in a practical way, to the management of organic waste and understand the value of composting as a tool to improve the health of the soil.

Through this work we learned about the natural cycles of nutrients, the reduction of waste and the importance of generating organic fertilizers in a sustainable way. This knowledge strengthened our vision agro-ecological and today form part of the basis of our project.

The composting and the vermicompostación are fundamental practices for a more sustainable form of agriculture, which contribute to improve soil structure, increase organic matter and promote biodiversity.

Currently, these lessons are reflected in our work with medicinal herbs, where we promote a responsible handling of natural resources, the valorisation of organic waste and the development of a production more conscious and sustainable.

We share images of projects that show part of this journey and our ongoing commitment to the circular economy and to increase the value of organic waste.
